László Kövér, president of the National Assembly, murmured to his Austrian counterpart, Wolfgang Sobotka, that considering the current virus situation in Hungary, no further adjustments are planned until the holidays, it was revealed in a video discussion on Tuesday.
Wolfgang Sobotka said Austria plans to ease austerity as the holidays approach, to which László Kövér replied that Hungary does not want to toughen up further, but that the government’s measures are aimed at strict compliance with the restrictive measures taken.
This could mean Hungary will not follow Austrian neighbors two weeks late, who recently imposed a strict daytime curfew, closing all schools and shops. This is planned to gradually ease this by Christmas. (via 24.hu)
