The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 3,929 new Hungarian citizens, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 181,881.
117 chronic patients, mostly elderly, have died since yesterday morning, the second-highest daily mortality figure since the March outbreak. The average age of the victims on the last day was 75.2 years, with the youngest victim being a 33-year-old woman. A total of 4,008 people have already been victims of the epidemic in Hungary since March.
44,020 people have already recovered, bringing the number of active infections to 133,853 today, which is 3,131 more than on Monday morning.
Currently, 7,598 coronavirus patients are being treated at the hospital, 638 of whom are in such a serious condition that they require a ventilator. The number of people in the hospital has increased by 137 since yesterday, and the number of people on the ventilator has increased by 11.
Cecília Müller said yesterday at an operational staff briefing that the number of hospital admissions is an important indicator that the government is monitoring as it re-evaluates austerity measures.

On the last day, the most infected people were found in Pest county, 501 people, in addition, the number of cases exceeded 400 in Budapest (490 people) and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county (407 people). In one week, more than 5,600 new cases were registered in Budapest, in Pest county the number exceeded 4,000 and in several counties there were more than 2,000 new cases. The fewest new coronavirus infections were recorded in Nógrád county, 406 people were found in one week.
Most of the new infections have been in Vas County per 100,000 residents in the last week.
Starting today, another measure will take effect to curb the epidemic and protect older people. The government accepted a proposal from the Council of the Elderly and will introduce a shopping bar for seniors on weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m., when only those over 65 can enter the stores. And on weekends, the same happens between 8 and 10. However, it is also important to know that older people can buy at a different time than the shopping time reserved for them, remember the operating staff.
Currently, the Operational Court has ordered extraordinary breaks in 205 kindergarten groups (7%) and 154 kindergartens (5%), as well as digital curricula in 82 primary schools (3%), 420 school classes (16%) ) and 52 primary schools (2%).
