Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than many expected, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections a day had been identified and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is a partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

Another 3,929 people were diagnosed with coronavirus infection in Hungary, increasing the number of infected people identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 181,881, according to the latest information from koronavírus.gov.hu

The majority of 117 deaths were elderly, chronic patients, bringing the number of deaths to 4,008 and 44,020 have already recovered.

The number of active infected people is 133,853, which is 3,131 more than the previous day. 22 percent of the actively infected, 25 percent of the dead and 26 percent of those recovered are from Budapest.

Approximately 7,598 coronavirus patients are being hospitalized, an increase of 137 in 24 hours. There are 638 people on the fan, 9 more than reported on Monday.

According to the data uploaded to the information page, a total of 1,528,302 tests have been carried out so far, compared to 1,518,158 yesterday, which means that only 10,144 people were tested for coronavirus. Based on this, the positivity rate is 38.73 percent, well above the recommendation of the World Health Organization. According to the WHO, the tests can be considered sufficient if no more than 5 percent of the tests are positive, the last time we were below the cut-off value in Hungary was on September 9.

On the last day, 490 new infections were registered in Budapest. In the counties, it developed as follows:
