He saw the hopelessness of the situation, the journalist explained why he left Totalcar.

Róbert Winkler, who resigned at Totalcar at the end of October, will join 444.hu – it is clear from the interview that Kreatív did with the journalist. Winkler said it was a “shitty feeling” after twenty years to put his resignation on the car’s editor-in-chief’s desk, “but you have to do that too.”

When asked what led him to leave, he replied, “I actually saw the hopelessness of the whole situation.” He didn’t decide to quit as a result of something new, exciting, he had been thinking about that for about ten years.

Regarding the beginnings of Totalcar, he said that it only started as a project that aimed not only to write his opinions about a car “very carefully, hidden between the lines, in chemical ink”. “The original idea was that because of this, there would be no need to depend on the importers, but other advertisers would take the newspaper, and then it didn’t matter who was mad at Totalcar. For the first ten years it was like that, and then there was mounting pressure on how not to do it. “

Winkler explained in detail the relationship within the newspaper, which summarized: “After a while I said thank you, let’s make a lead sacrifice here without which it would be easier and I resigned as editor-in-chief, then Bandi and Pista left (András Stump and Vályi István – ed.). No one has protected the worker and the item anymore, but it has become easier to earn money. They felt less affected by the conflicts, or they simply felt that the importer was not there to finally support Winkler, who says he is very sorry about what hurts them, but listens to it again and then we meet the next press. So Totalcar indexed a few years before the index itself. “

As for why he didn’t quit in July, when the former Index editorial team left, Winkler said he was only on a motorcycle tour, so “I missed that psychological factor and it would have been very unconvincing to run after them to! wait for me too! “.

Winkler will be a journalist at 444.hu, but he doesn’t yet know what he will have to write about. According to him, his departure will not be interrupted at Totalcar. “Everything works without me, as the old Index works.”
