The reintroduction of the known anti-epidemic measure from the time of the first wave was confirmed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in a Facebook video shortly after. The decree issued in this regard has since been published in the Hungarian Gazette.
According to a press release from the Government Information Center on Monday, in order to curb the epidemic and protect the elderly, the government has adopted a proposal from the Council of Elders to:
Tuesday every working day from 09.00 to 11.00 and Saturdays and Sundays) from 08.00 to 10.00 the commercial bar for the elderly is presented.
During this time, only people over 65 can enter the following stores:
- grocery stores,
- pharmacies (this includes stores that sell perfumes, drugstores, household cleaners, chemicals and toilet paper),
- pharmacy,
- other drug and medical supply stores.
The word protective measures for the elderly is included in the November 23 edition of the Hungarian Gazette:
“For the benefit of him and his family, he is 65 years old.
(a) a grocery store that sells everyday consumer goods (hereinafter a grocery store),
(b) other items (perfumes, pharmacies, household cleaners, chemicals and toilet paper product) (‘the pharmacy’) and
(c) a company that sells a medicine or a medical device (hereinafter collectively: a pharmacy)
Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 11:00, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 to 10:00.
Only the people mentioned in paragraph 1 may be present in the grocery store, drugstore and pharmacy from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (hereinafter, the protected shopping time zone) except the employees there.
A person over 65 years of age can freely visit a grocery store, drugstore or pharmacy outside of the protected shopping period. “
From 0.00 on Tuesdays (Monday to Friday) from 09.00 to 11.00 and on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) from 08.00 to 10.00, seniors will have a shopping time zone “.
Another means of defense
Katalin Novák advocated the implementation of a shopping bar for people over 65, taking into account the experience of spring, all this would be of great help in the daily life of the age group over 65, who are at higher risk of get the coronavirus.
