The technical and organizational development is demonstrated by the fact that the Hungarian intelligence has been expanded with a second new center in six months, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade at the handover of the Crisis Management Center of the Information Office.

According to the audio recording sent to the MTI, the Education and Training Center of the Information Office was handed over at the end of May, as recalled in Péter Szijjártó’s speech, and now the crisis management center will come into operation.

It is clear that a new world order is emerging, a world order that brings us and defines new tasks.

– emphasized the head of the ministry, adding that to guarantee the security of the nation, the changes that are taking place in the world must be effectively analyzed and evaluated.

This ability to respond quickly and analytically is more needed now, as we approach the end of the most eventful and confusing year in the last 10-12 years.

– highlighted Péter Szijjártó.

It must also be seen that the pandemic did not negate, but exacerbated, the challenges we have had to face so far. Such is the case with terrorism, which has received an entirely new impetus

Said the Minister.

He also spoke about the fact that the epidemic has pushed part of education and social life into the digital space, giving terrorists the opportunity to commit cyberattacks and spread their extremist ideology more quickly and effectively.

Drew attention to that

In the first half of 2020, the number of cyberattacks increased by 30 percent and some of them affected critical infrastructure.

He added that this period will greatly increase the importance of security, including intelligence. Therefore, a crisis management center is essential for the 21st century. it also meets the requirements of the 21st century, international intelligence standards, and allows the country’s response capacity to be uninterrupted.

He indicated that the center, which has already been delivered, is open at all hours of the day and every day of the week, from where you can follow the operation in progress and keep in contact with the staff abroad.

It costs 1.5 billion HUF, but

It was also a good and necessary investment, since without a crisis management center of this type, modern intelligence operations are now practically unthinkable.

– said Péter Szijjártó.
