Speaking to the Dutch public media, Yvette Broch said that she had returned to her old team, France’s Metz, where the Dutch national team captain-in-chief Emmanuel Mayonnade is the head coach. The 29-year-old 118-time national team player has only asked for one coaching opportunity so far, but is very happy to be able to return and feel good in the team.
Broch, a two-time BL winner in Győr, was one of the best players in the world, but in August 2018 he unexpectedly decided to retire because he was completely exhausted both mentally and physically.
“It took me two and a half years to learn certain things about myself and gain experience in other areas of life.” He explained. He added, burned out by the pressure that put him as an elite athlete, but in recent years he has become a different person, seeing life and handball from a completely different side as well.
“I love being on the field again, I really enjoy it. For now, I consider it just a good opportunity for training and fun ”- announced the silver and bronze medalist of the World Championship and the silver medalist of the European Championship Broch, who played in Metz from 2011 to 2015.
