The Great Plain is in trouble

Last year, the service provider tasked with serving half a million people closed with a loss of nearly 650 million.

At the September general meeting, the company also announced that it sees no economic solution to restore the balance of the company’s capital structure other than to reduce the share capital from HUF 3.8 billion to HUF 1.25 billion to settle losses. According to MTI, this is not endorsed by the owners, but they do not have the resources to restore the financial balance of the company.

In January of this year, Alföldvíz Zrt. It submitted a request for a capital increase of HUF 1.7 billion to the owner municipalities to create the necessary funds, but the request was rejected by the members due to lack of funds.

It is not known what the drinking water will be in the Great Plain.

The Great Plain must operate at a loss, but no one wants to be in the guild.

The company was scheduled to become majority state-owned in the summer of 2017, but at the then general meeting in late June, Magyar Nemzeti Vagyonkezelő (MNV) Zrt. It withdrew its intention to increase its capital by HUF 1.7 billion, so the ownership structure did not change.

Alföldvíz Zrt. It carries out public water services in 54 settlements in the counties of Békés, Csongrád – Csanád, Bács – Kiskun and Hajdú – Bihar, serving 541 thousand people. Békéscsaba has the largest property, 32.8 percent, state property is 28 percent.
