The third wave of the coronavirus epidemic could easily appear in February-March, said Alexandru Rafila, president of the Romanian Society for Microbiology, in Târgu Mureş. The professor added that the strength of this wave depends on public health measures and the level of individual protection. According to him, about 90 percent of the Romanian population has not yet been infected, so “the size of the receiving medium is very large,” Transindex wrote, citing the Romanian state news agency Agerpres.

Rafila also spoke about the fact that respiratory diseases are characterized by the fact that they spread in “waves”. The spring wave was followed by a much larger drop, for which, however, health systems are already much better prepared.
