The Relax Dokit initiative team has issued another call: Even in the second wave, many healthcare workers would need temporary housing where they do not endanger others, especially their families.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus was mostly between 50 and 100 in 24 hours. The first step is a partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

Relax Doc was created this spring to connect homeowners of currently vacant furnished homes with healthcare workers struggling on the front lines. They do all of this to ensure that the doctors and nurses most at risk of infection do not risk the lives of their family members and others (such as those who ride public transport) by leaving the Covid class directly and living as close to their place as possible. of work.

For this reason, the initiative team continues to wait for free offers in which the owners give their homes to those affected for charitable purposes. As they write in their statement, during the first wave, they received almost 300 offers and thus were able to provide housing for more than 400 health workers.

Now, however, the demand is much higher than the supply, so they have reissued their call. They add that group members check all applicants before connecting with each other because “there can also be abuse during these times.” The floors are disinfected after use.
