In two months, only 2,500 to 2,500 US troops will be stationed in the two countries.

US President Donald Trump has ordered the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and Iraq, US Defense Secretary Christopher Miller announced Tuesday.

According to the announcement, the United States will reduce the number of its troops stationed in the two countries from 2,500 to 2,500 by January 15.

Miller said the decision is aimed at the US government’s end to “a war that has lasted for generations.” The newly appointed new defense minister noted that Washington had consulted with its allies, including NATO leaders and members of the North Atlantic Alliance, before making the decision, and had consulted with the Afghan government.

Not to mention the helpful warning that democracy is not inherited by the people, but must be created jointly and actively.
