Hundreds of students from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) are volunteering to help fight the coronavirus epidemic, the university informed MTI.
Students will primarily support the work of health professionals who perform testing and sampling in driving, transportation and administrative tasks, including the statement.
With the support of the university, the BME student community also joined the collaboration to support protection against the coronavirus epidemic, at the initiative of students from the National Ambulance Service and Semmelweis University.

About three hundred applications were received within two days of the institution’s internal call, and on November 16, more than forty university students joined the tasks related to the effective implementation of the tests. In the next period, the number of students will be available according to the needs agreed with the ambulance service, he added.
Volunteers receive room and board, a public scholarship, and a discounted study schedule.
At the request of the National Ambulance Service, the rector of Semmelweis University called on students at the institution in early November to volunteer to fight the epidemic. Students from other higher education institutions, as well as students from the Technical University, have joined this collaboration.
