The new production center of the state company BM Heros Zrt. In Kaposvár it was delivered over the weekend. The company used to manufacture and renovate fire trucks, then it won the ambulance tender, and now, in the pictures taken at the opening of the 3,100-square-meter factory hall, we were able to face a bus that was magnificent in BKK colors.

It is no coincidence that the Ministry of the Interior is mentioned in the name of the company: its founder is the Minister of the Interior Sándor Pintér, who established the company in 2001 with a registered capital of 1 billion florins. The new facility, which also serves as a regional service and workshop,

It was built from one and a half billion guilders, for which the Ministry of Innovation and Technology provided 500 million guilders in support.

According to data from the public company, BM Heros’ net sales revenue in 2019 was HUF 4.5 billion and its profit after tax was HUF 351 million.

At the delivery of the workshop, Károly Szita, Mayor of Kaposvár, pointed out that this is the first company in the city’s 32-hectare eastern industrial estate, where other companies interested in the machinery industry are also expected to be established. Attila Gelencsér, Fidesz Member of Parliament for the region, emphasized that Hungary had been developing its industry in accordance with the Irinyi Plan since 2016, and had set a target of 30 percent of its total production from this sector by 2030.

Industry has a pull effect unmatched by any other industry, with every 100 industrial jobs creating an additional 100 jobs.

He pointed.

The distributed press release indicates that the company

plans to produce 150 solo, 100 articulators and 50 midibuses per year

In Kaposvár. The Association of Urban and Suburban Transport knows that the type license for the solo vehicle is already in place and they have started to produce a zero series of a few pieces, taking maximum account of BKK’s needs.

Heros 127. Let’s try this name, because there has never been such a thing … The BM Heros estate is one of the new vehicle manufacturers …

This vehicle is basically diesel, which is interesting because

But that’s not the only strange thing about it. The production of BM Heros so far is not a clear success story either. As we wrote above, their fire truck, developed with Rába’s help, turned out to be defective and has already caught a floor at the fair, which did not deter the National Ambulance Service from ordering their new vehicles as well. It is true that the ambulance tender was only beaten for the second time, but the 3.2 billion order ended with BM Heros as well.

Although money always arrives here, rural towns cry because the Orbán government, citing the epidemic, will not give them regulatory support for public transport this year, and next year there will be no such title. 328 million guilders were withdrawn from Szeged, some 400 million from Debrecen and almost 500 million from Miskolc. The local press is quite upset to report on the withdrawal.

The situation is also quite ambiguous in Budapest. While Balázs Fürjes, Secretary of State for the Development of the Capital and its Agglomeration, rumored that Budapest would receive buses from the government for six billion, this would not increase the fleet of BKK or BKV, but the Voláné, now part of MÁV. twice thirty new buses.

Zoltán Pafféri, President and CEO of Volánbusz, emphasized that

more than half of the capital agglomeration’s fleet of 56 Fleet Buses is now being renovated, lowering their average age from six to three, which is also unique at European level.

However, it falls into the sea. Zoltán Homolya, president and CEO of MÁV, said that more than 700 new buses will be purchased in the coming weeks. The only beauty flaw in these purchases is that, while they spread the national added value that these vehicles have, they actually incorporate only a few things in the buses that come from abroad. They are like that

  • seatbelt,
  • diagnostic devices,
  • the passenger information system,
  • the closed cabin,

to be included in the Merecedesek just taken in Debrecen. And with that, to stay with the transportation analogy, we don’t go too far.

Going back to BM Heros, at least they try that. Attila Rajnai, the chief executive of the company, said they are building on the national economy throughout.

The company strives to produce vehicles with its own development, design and production with Hungarian employees, Hungarian suppliers and subcontractors, if possible, after assessing market needs, so that the national added value in the products is as high as possible .

And a more positive one: the factory opening was made memorable by the fact that in the end a 60 million florin fire truck was used for the Kaposvár Voluntary Fire and Rescue Association as a kind of exclusive corporate gift. Hopefully this one doesn’t turn over like his older brother.
