In Slovenia, public transport was closed for two weeks starting Monday, and all stores were closed except supermarkets, pharmacies, banks and post offices. Slovenia declared the epidemic situation again on October 19 and gradually tightened measures to curb the coronavirus epidemic, the MTI said.

The government explained the recent drastic austerity by saying that previous measures had only partially worked. All meetings in the country are prohibited. There is a night curfew and a day curfew, and a mask is still mandatory everywhere. Kindergartens and educational institutions will be closed for another two weeks, teaching will take place in the form of distance learning.

According to data published by the Cabinet on Monday

the number of infected people has increased from 501 to 55,543 in the last 24 hours.

Thirty-four patients died, bringing the death toll to 831. Of the diagnosed patients, 1,264 are hospitalized, 207 of whom are treated in the intensive care unit.

In neighboring Croatia, 1,313 new infections have been identified last day, bringing the number of people infected to 85,519 since the outbreak began. Last day, 33 people died from the disease, bringing the number of victims of the epidemic to 1,082 so far. The hospital carries 1,816 patients, 191 of whom are on ventilators.

Although the number of new confirmed infections per day decreased in both countries, fewer tests were conducted on weekends than on weekdays. However, the number of new coronavirus patients needing hospital treatment also increased in Croatia and Slovenia.
