Europe is fighting the epidemic. As expected, according to the epidemic curve, the number of infected people in Hungary also increased significantly
Cecília Müller said. The national medical director reported that another 6,495 new Hungarian citizens had been diagnosed with the new coronavirus infection, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 147,961.
The medical director also spoke of incorrect data that appeared in the official announcement of the coronavir virus on Monday due to a reporting error. Warned that
the number of laboratory tests performed will be a multiple of what was published on Monday morning.
Cecília Müller also spoke about the fact that Hungary’s place in the European Union has not changed for weeks, ranking 11th out of 27 member states in terms of infected people and 15th in terms of deaths.
The EU average is one and a half times higher than the Hungarian average for infected and dead.
It also reported that the majority of the 93 patients who died were elderly, chronically ill and the number of deaths totaled 3,190. The youngest of them is 33 years old and the oldest is 98 years old. He added that the experience is still the same that is reported every day, that is, that people with one or more chronic diseases are the most affected by the virus.
Currently, exactly 7,236 people are hospitalized and 582 are on ventilators.
This is a very high burden on the care system.
He said, then quoting the Prime Minister, saying “down with the hat in front of the health workers.” The national chief physician stressed that currently the most important thing is to reduce the burden on health workers, but it is equally important to reduce the number of serious diseases.
It is definitely the goal, and it must float in front of everyone, flatten the epidemic curve, and reduce the burden on the care system.
Cecília Müller explained, highlighting that that is why the soldiers are involved in helping with care. He recalled that they had participated in various tasks in the past and that they had performed disinfection at various institutions during spring and fall break. Stressed soldiers
they do not help with tasks that require health training.
On testing capacity, he said, the National Public Health Center (NNK) screening buses now screen patients at 6 locations. Those sent by the GP for a laboratory examination should check with the National Ambulance Service staff if ambulances should go to the filter bus for testing or go home for testing.
Cecília Müller added that the pharmacies are open,
In Hungary, the supply of medicines is safe and continuous,
and asked that no one accumulate drugs unnecessarily. He stressed that access to food was just as safe and, although panic buying had started in neighboring countries, it was not necessary in Hungary.
Finally, he said that Hungary is going through very difficult times, so he asked everyone to help those involved in the first line of defense with their disciplined behavior.
