Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. So far, the municipalities of 147 municipalities have ordered the use of public masks, and the police had to act in 267 cases on Saturday for breach of these rules. Since the promulgation of the regulation on the mandatory use of public masks, the police have had to deal with a total of 823 people so far, added Róbert Kiss, deputy chief of the operational tribe guard center responsible for controlling the epidemic, in statements to the public media on Sunday. According to him, the rules on the use of masks are also less and less ignored in public transport, the police had to take action in only 67 cases on Saturday.

Róbert Kiss also said

As you can see, people have understood that a curfew helps control the epidemic.

This is demonstrated by the fact that on Saturday only 530 cases of police action were taken for violating these norms, and most of the detainees were able to prove that they were in a public place legally.

Seven of the offenders were dog walkers who strayed from the 500 meters allowed, 44 people violated the rules of grouping and public assembly. Police also closed two restaurants in Budapest on Saturday for seven days, as employees and the food courier arriving there violated the rules for wearing a mask.

Róbert Kiss stressed that it is not typical for criminals to challenge the action of the police, which is why most police officers use warnings.
