Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus was mostly between 50 and 100 in 24 hours. The first step is partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

The number of identified infections rose to 140,961 when another 4,238 coronaviruses were found Sunday morning. The death toll was 107 in the last 24 hours, writes the government website koronavirus.gov.hu.

The number of active infections is 106,265.

7,013 patients are treated in the hospital and 569 with ventilators.

The number of tests was 28,715, which is almost 15 percent positive.

There are currently 38,028 people under official home quarantine.

Most of the new and deceased patients are also residents of Budapest.

There are no people under the age of 50 among those killed this time, although the virus has already been a victim in Hungary for 20 years.
