Public parking has not been charged since November 4, according to a government decree. However, the mayor of Fidesz will change this parking in the public areas of the city center from Wednesday of next week to a limited waiting area, according to a report by RTL Klub.

There will be a time zone on weekdays from 11 am to 4 pm, when those without a pass will also be able to enter the downtown public parking lot. Outside this period, those who do not have season tickets can stop in the paid parking lot and the underground garage – the mayor explained the decision, Csaba Dézsi. According to him, this is necessary because the ordered free parking did not provide space for motorists living in the city center.

This does not mean that there will be paid parking in the city center. This is the only way to distinguish between those who have the right to collect in the city center, either for work or for housing.

He said.

According to the traffic lawyer, Csaba Dézsi found a loophole in the government decree. However, this may be contrary to the intention of the legislator.

RTL asked the government about the discovered lagoon and they responded that “it is the mayors’ job to take measures based on local needs.”
