At age 53 he died of a sudden tragic Attila Horváth Discus thrower for the World Championship bronze medal, wrote the website of the Hungarian Athletics Association (MASZ). According to the portal Ugytudjuk.hu, he became a victim of the coronavirus.
Horváth was born on July 28, 1967 in Szombathely, became its first national junior champion in 1984 and 1985, and later won a gold medal at the 1985 European Junior Championships.
He won the first medal of the Hungarian athletics world championship: he won a bronze medal at the 1991 Tokyo Fair. In the same year, he finished third in the Grand Prix series.
He finished fifth at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and then the 1994 European Championships in Helsinki and a year later at the Gothenburg World Championships. He finished 10th at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
The adult national peak was corrected in 1994, with a record of 68.58 meters for eight years, that is, until 2002. With this result, in 1994 it also led the world discus throwing rankings.
He has won the adult championship a total of nine times.
In January 2000, citing a chest muscle injury, he announced his retirement, saying that the Olympics were a great challenge, but that it would only have been worth preparing for Sydney with a full workout.
After that, he started the skill team championship in October to help Progress at VSE, and although he was only training for his own maintenance, he still threw the puck over sixty meters (60.12).
In 2002, after 21 years, he left the club there to help the discus thrower. Zoltán Kővágó job.
Attila Horváth is considered by the Hungarian Athletics Association as his own dead.
