A 73-year-old man in the Netherlands, who was beaten to death in Arnhem two weeks ago, was the victim of a “pedophile hunt,” the Dutch prosecutor’s office said.
According to the information, the retired teacher had a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old boy in an internet chat room.
however, it is not clear whether he knew the age of the child. The man was so badly treated at the scene that he died from his injuries after being taken to hospital.
The authorities arrested an 18-year-old boy and six minors.
The lawyer who defended the 15-year-old said that his protégé had not been involved in the abuse and that the old man died as a result of an accidental fall, not from the blows received. He also added that the victim had not abused the victim with premeditated intent. The lawyer said in a statement to the press that
