The Board of Directors of the Student Loan Center has decided to extend the general loan repayment moratorium introduced on March 19, 2020 until June 30, 2021, announced CEO Péter Magyar. The general refund moratorium, which will run until June 30, 2021, will also apply to customers who are already in the refund phase and enter the refund phase in the first half of 2021 for all products of student loans. Until the expiration of the extended moratorium, the Student Loan Center will not charge late interest on outstanding debts or terminate delinquent loan agreements.
Existing principal and interest debts can be voluntarily repaid during the moratorium, in accordance with current regulations, and the repayments received are accounted for as free prepayment without a separate request. Voluntary refunds can be unilaterally suspended at any time during the moratorium, until June 30, 2021.
