The boy from Karancslapujtő who caused the accident was also not licensed. An arrest warrant was issued against him.

Police detained the 17-year-old, who killed two people in a car accident in Salgótarján on Thursday.

The police write on their website that the boy from Karancslapujtő was driving his car on the main road No. 21, on the outskirts of Salgótarján, from the direction of Pálfalva towards the center of the city, when he swerved into the opposite traffic lane and collided with a car head-on. In the accident, the innocent driver and his passenger suffered such serious injuries that they died at the scene.

Police said the boy did not have a license and the Budapest District Court Penitentiary Group issued an arrest warrant against him for withdrawing from correctional education. Before the accident, the minor stole the car from the garage of a house in Karancslapujőti in the early hours of the morning.

The police have prosecuted the boy for theft and negligent traffic accident. He has been detained and his arrest is proposed in the next few days.
