Almost ninety percent of the Berva Valley Nursing Home in Eger was infected with the coronavirus, which was announced by Ádám Mirkóczki, the mayor of the city; can be read on the county portal heol.hu.

The mayor said that on November 10, the institution required sixty PCR tests. Tests of 54 nursing home residents and workers ended with a positive result, two received a negative result, and one was not evaluable.

This result was described by the mayor as shocking because the prohibition of visits and exits was introduced in the institution long before the operational staff recommended it. Additionally, disinfection, body temperature measurements were ongoing and strict standards were followed in the nursing home. According to Ádám Mirkóczki, there was no negligence on the part of the workers, but the virus infected almost everyone.

Fortunately, so far all have tolerated the disease well, most asymptomatic. This case highlights that despite strict measures, the coronavirus is spreading

Said the mayor.

Eger’s boss asks all heads of institutions to order massive tests immediately. Ádám Mirkóczki also reported that negotiations on the disinfection of public spaces are already underway, and that more and more disinfection points will be reopened in Eger as of Monday.
