We wrote it, according to the Thai authority. Péter Szijjártó infected a Hungarian diplomat in Bangkok, but we have previously reported that 1,166 people have been tested for coronavirus in Cambodia so far due to a visit by the Hungarian delegation.

Tamás Menczer The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared “some facts for the sake of truthful information” about Péter Szijjártó’s trip to Asia:

  • The chancellor gave a negative sample just before departure.
  • Since it started after a negative result, no one can rightly claim that Peter Szijjártó infected someone in Cambodia or Thailand. We don’t know who infected him.
  • During all his visits, Péter Szijjártó complied with the epidemiological regulations of the host country.
  • In Cambodia, on some occasions, he did not wear a mask because the host party specifically requested it, claiming that neither did the Cambodian partner.
  • Csaba Őry the ambassador has mild symptoms but is hospitalized according to local regulations.

Péter Szijjártó visited Cambodia in early November and the next day his pattern turned positive in Thailand. As a result, he took immediate action in Cambodia, immediately suspended education in public and private schools in Phnom Penh and Kandal provinces, suspended all sporting activities at the National Olympic Stadium, and temporarily closed nightclubs, cinemas, theaters and museums in the whole country.
