Index – National – Opposition uniformly demands repeal of constitutional amendment

Viktor Orbán fears losing the elections in 2022 while continuing a vile and inhuman government: this is the beginning of a rather bold statement issued by all opposition parliaments with the same text, in which MEPs complain that the 90 days the voted emergency power was used by the government as one of the first measures to amend the Basic Law and rewrite the electoral law in place of epidemiological and economic protection measures.

According to the parties’ announcement, government parties will take repeated measures “to steal public funds and cover up and hide companies and foundations full of public funds.” They say

While presumably hundreds of Hungarians are dying due to the Orbánek’s severe historical delays and the months pursued, the prime minister and his team are transferring additional taxes to billions of Hungarians on castles, ships and planes to the already full oligarchs, securing them of the defeat of 2022.

It is also considered a desperate maneuver that, without consultation, a year and a half before the parliamentary elections, the government has presented a proposal to modify the Electoral Law. According to the parties, this maneuver does not serve to act against the camouflage parties, but suggests that the head of government no longer “feels secure in his own self-written electoral system.”

According to the assessment of the parties, with these steps Viktor Orbán has become completely unworthy of his position. Therefore, they follow that

“Withdraw the relevant invoices and cover the rest of the mandate without theft or clumsiness.”

To summon your ministers and secretaries of state: “If you can’t help during a pandemic, at least don’t suffer” – the communication ends.
