Parliament has granted extraordinary authority, regulations have been promulgated, restrictive rules take effect from midnight. “I ask everyone to follow them, to take care of each other, especially to take care of our parents, our grandparents, our elderly and infirm compatriots!” – Viktor Orbán said after signing the decrees.

On Tuesday, Parliament expanded the scope of the emergency declared by the coronavirus epidemic after voting on the protection law against the second wave of the epidemic.

The prime minister said on Monday that the number of coronavirus illnesses should be reduced because if the number of infected people continues to grow at this rate, hospitals will not be able to cope with the burden placed on them, the MTI is quoted as saying.

The restrictive measures included a curfew between 8 a.m. and 5 a.m., the introduction of digital education above the eighth grade, a ban on meetings and events, the closure of restaurants and the closure of sporting events.
