Trump also said Christopher C. Miller, director of the National Counterterrorism Center with immediate effect, assumes the position of Executive Minister From the Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper. In a microblogging post, Trump noted that Miller was “highly respected” and in his previous role “the Senate unanimously supported” his appointment.
In another note, the president stated: Chris will do a great job.
He also thanked Minister Mark Esper for his work. According to NBC television, Esper wrote his resignation letter at the end of the week.
