Another shipment of favipiravir, one million tablets, arrived from China, said Péter Szijjártó, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, in a video posted on his Facebook page on Monday. According to him, they are constantly negotiating with foreign partners about the control of the pandemic, not only about the procurement of vaccines, but also about drugs to help treat patients more effectively.

As a result, another million favipiravir tablets arrived from China on Sunday evening, the minister said according to the MTI.

This is a drug that, when given at an appropriate rate to patients who already have symptoms, has a good chance of preventing symptoms from getting worse.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade explained. He reported that more purchases are being negotiated with various manufacturers, with another million shipments coming from Japan at the end of the week. As soon as new agreements are reached, they will be informed immediately.

In his quarantine diary, Péter Szijjártó said that he was in quarantine for the seventh day, “the symptoms still do not allow it.” She feels like a flu patient, but hopes her condition doesn’t get worse.
