Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, who was infected with the coronavirus, posted a video on his Facebook page about how he was having a good online discussion with the Central European foreign ministers.
When asked if he had any symptoms, Szijjártó said he had a headache and a cough that disappeared, but that the muscle pain was bothersome.
Szijjártó negotiated with his Austrian, Slovenian, Slovak and Czech colleagues. The conversation took place on Friday and the Hungarian minister told the MTI that they talked about the epidemic situation, because it is true for the entire Central European region that the second wave is an extremely serious challenge for all countries, both in terms of numbers and complexity. During the first wave, “four to five times the record data experienced as an absolute tragedy” has now become the daily average, he said. He added that this shows that the situation is much more serious than it was in the spring. According to Péter Szijjártó, the situation is perhaps more favorable, as health systems are better prepared, as the epidemic broke out “completely unexpectedly” in the spring.
Péter Szijjártó turned out to be coronavirus earlier this week. The Hungarian minister was on a trip to Asia, and more than six hundred people were examined in Cambodia and several politicians were quarantined.
