Zoltán Balog was elected bishop of the Reformed Diocese of Dunamellék, the communication service of the Hungarian Reformed Church announced on Thursday. Two bishop candidates ran in the district elections. Péter Balla, former rector of the Károli Gáspár Reformed University, obtained 33 percent of the votes, 99 votes, while the former EMMI minister obtained 67 percent of the votes, that is, 200 votes from the presbyteries.
