Democratic reaction

It can take hours or even more days to add up all the votes. There are legal complications around counting votes by letter. With the exception of Pennsylvania and Texas, election laws in all involved Member States require that election commissions receive ballot papers on Election Day until polls close, as late votes are not considered.
