Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. Taking over the tasks of the state, the capital will begin its own testing program, Mayor Gergely Karácsony announced Wednesday. The Metropolitan Municipality is beginning to purchase 100,000 antigen tests for testing every day.

Antigen tests are, according to Christmas, accurate for PCR tests, but unlike them, they have results almost immediately.

Regarding the differences between the two tests, here we write, Cecília Müller previously stated: “What was positive with a rapid test was also positive with PCR. What is negative, however, was only a negative part by PCR, so there is a clear need for confirmation there. “

The capital testing program will cover all vulnerable sectors as announced. Priority is given to municipal institutions, such as those working in the educational or social sphere. The situation of the teachers was mentioned separately by Christmas, because according to him, the government had forgotten about them.

Therefore, the capital is distributing 50,000 coronavirus tests, obtained from its own resources, to the population in proportion to the districts to help evaluate those who work in education.

In addition to the help of local governments, the capital also has donations from individuals and companies to support the voluntary selection of the teaching society. Speaking of the national epidemic, Christmas called it “hell.” At the same time, he thanked the people of the capital for their discipline, with which he contributed greatly to the control of the epidemic in Budapest.

Free parking will cause traffic chaos and also worsen air quality, recent government regulations assessed. He complained that the government is not providing subsidies for public transportation, although his ticket revenues are declining and expectations are rising.
