We are updating our article.

Gergely Gulyás The prime minister and the minister Saint King Alexandra The government spokesman gives a press conference at the Carmelite Monastery on the latest government measures.

Gergely Gulyás said about yesterday’s government meeting that Viktor Orbán had already informed the public about the most important decisions that were made in it.

The coronavirus situation is deteriorating around the world, especially in Europe, and in Hungary the number of people who need to be hospitalized is increasing. Even today, the number of patients treated in the hospital can exceed the 5,000 mark. Parliament is asked to extend the state of emergency by 90 days.

The government is calling on Budapest and county cities to increase traffic, and there may be traffic jams due to free parking, but it is still better than the spread of the epidemic. Gergely Gulyás emphasized that the restriction of events is reasonable and justified, all places where there is music and table service are closed.

Before the steering wheel seat, the body temperature of the participants is measured, the protection distance is maintained, it is not mandatory to wear a mask, but it must be collected. The ATV employee asked about it because today it turned out that Péter Szijjártó had caught the coronavirus.

Today, there are 32,000 hospital beds available for coronavirus patients, but new capacities can be mobilized by stopping elective and deferred interventions. According to the current trend, the current number of 32,000 beds may be occupied by mid-December, but operational stress also has a stage for this. Elective interventions have already been discontinued in some hospitals. The fact that there are many hospital beds in Hungary is especially advantageous in this situation. There are enough doctors, if necessary, fifth and sixth year medical students can also participate in care.

On the question of whether another tightening is expected, Gergely Gulyás said that it has tightened twice this week, but the situation is constantly being examined. The government is discussing the AstraZeneca vaccine. They are investigating if they can get the vaccine from elsewhere sooner. The statement of an EC spokesperson is not informed, since such vaccination can be free and voluntary. Under EU law, Member States can still temporarily authorize a vaccine. In the worst case, almost too pessimistic, a respirator could be attached to up to 10,000 people.

Asked by RTL Klub, Gergely Gulyás said that pubs would not be closed because the coronavirus spreads more in music and dance venues. The PDSZ has called for the introduction of online education, but the minister said this was not justified, the capacity was assessed. Also asked by the RTL Club if national tests are planned, the head of the ministry said that they are acting in accordance with the WHO protocol, but the tests have already become massive.

Gulyás also said that due to the closure of the M0 bridge, they are being investigated to exclude contractors from more tenders because he believes the work was done in poor quality.

Asked by HírTV, the minister said that the old special legal order would be restored, so that mayors would receive the additional powers listed in the Disaster Management Law and could decide instead of the general assembly. By-elections now scheduled for this weekend will also be lost, but the seats that were left vacant in the 7th and 8th districts with the resignation of one deputy and the tragic death of another could only have been filled around March.

Gulyás also said that no one can overwrite the agreement reached by the prime ministers in the council, if they want to adopt another agreement in the European Parliament, the Hungarian government will veto the budget and will not ratify the own resources agreement to adopt the aid package. law.
