Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. Another 3,989 people were diagnosed with coronavirus infection, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 86,769 – read the official information page.

Most of the 84 deaths were chronic elderly patients, so the death toll rose to 1973. Never before has Covid-19 claimed so many lives in a single day, and so far most of the 70 deaths reported on Monday.

According to the latest data, 4,767 coronavirus patients are being hospitalized, 350 more than reported on Monday. There are a total of 348 people with fans, 25 more than the day before.

On Monday, 14,620 laboratory tests were performed, a positivity rate of more than 27.2 percent, up from the maximum of 5 percent recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), a total of 1,111,991 since the outbreak began.

The Operational Staff currently ordered extraordinary breaks in 56 kindergartens and 5 schools, and digital work schedules in 32 classes and 15 schools.
