It will be held online from November 13 to 15 this year at the VIII. National Cartoon Festival, which will feature 200 burning movies. This year’s event will be followed on the National Cartoon Festival YouTube channel.

KEDD Animation Studio organizes the event with the participation of almost a hundred venues throughout the country, for which 31 blocks of films are being made. Audiences can also see classics like Water Spider Wonder Spiders, Tailcoat, Cat’s Horror, Kukori, and Kotkoda, but the show also includes Hungarian folk tales, Tales about King Matthias, and episodes from the Gypsy Tales series.

Among the great favorites of recent years are the stories of Berry and Babóca, Kuflik, Borka and the Magic Suit, Detti and Wire, Shipwrecked and Boxi, among others. In addition to the series, new and classic companion cartoons are also shown. In the selections of contemporary Hungarian animation workshops and universities, the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts, the Budapest Metropolitan University, the great cartoonists of the future will be presented.

Another selection includes the best works from film festivals: the Cinemira International Children’s Film Festival and the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival: the tale of the Hortobágy crane, the Super Pig and the Space Rat, and the Kipp-kopp in the snow. On top of all this, viewers will be able to savor this year’s latest series: the tales of Naszreddin Hodzsa, Mitch-Match and some episodes of Cserebogarak, which process the childhood of famous Hungarian elite athletes.

In this year’s offer, all ages will find something to their liking: preschoolers can learn by playing with Dúdoló, and with the Hungarian Battles series, schoolchildren can travel back in time; and parents and grandparents can relive their childhood with episodes from the cartoon series Dandelion or Microbes.

A VIII. National Cartoon Festival pays tribute to the work of Ferenc Rofusz on the 40th anniversary of the presentation of his Oscar-winning cartoon Fly. In addition to the highly successful short film, the three-day event will feature, among other things, One Year in Hoppifalva, Ticket and The Last Supper.

The special feature of this year’s Online Cartoon Festival is that the organizers also provide information about the life of the most enthusiastic settlements and institutions. The recordings they submit will be available on their own exclusive YouTube channel. The recordings include a presentation of the Szolnok exhibition, cultural walks in Téten, exciting moments from the Siklós Castle Festival, a puppet show about Újszász, a Felsőtárkány folk dance flashmob, as well as Luca’s daily witches and a concert. .
