Index – Culture – Netflix may have lost many subscribers to Sugar Malls

According to a recent Daily Mail article, the growth of Netflix’s streaming service provider has slowed significantly. The reason is the resignation of a large number of subscribers to the platform, caused by the presentation of the French film Cuties.

The sexualization of girls in the film outraged many and a lawsuit was started against Netflix. However, the company has yet to withdraw the film from its offering.

Netflix used to be famous for its bold commercial policy, but now it seems like it has gone too far. As the Index wrote, the movie’s poster sparked outrage even before its release. This was only amplified by the ambiguous communication from the platform.

The poster showed the girls in adult poses and clothing. Production, which attacked from both sides of the political spectrum, is most likely the reason the company ended a significantly weaker third quarter than expected.

The protagonists of Sugar Snacks are 11-year-old girls who are clearly learning erotic dance in a twerk dance group, and this fact alone sexualizes young children. The question rightly arises, what sensible parent allows his non-adolescent son to learn a “suit dance” called twerk from a lap dance and strip bar show? In the story, the girls turn against each other for their sudden success and experience the false reputation they achieve by pointing to their bodies on social media.
