The most recent party preference research from the Republican Institute examined voter activity and party choice in October. Seventy-one percent of those surveyed would definitely go to the polls in a parliamentary election this Sunday, and another 19 percent think they are likely to vote. Today, Hungarian society is characterized by unusually high voter turnout.

According to the survey, approximately a third of the total population would vote for the government parties, so Fidesz-KDNP continues to enjoy the trust of voters. The proportion of insecure people is almost the same as that of the ruling party, and a third of the population supports one of the opposition parties, that is, the situation is balanced between Fidesz-KDNP and the opposition as a whole.

Of the opposition parties, DK is the most popular, with 10 percent support among the total population. Second is Momentum with 8 percent, Jobbik and MSZP have 5-5 percent support. The Dog Party reached 2 percent, LMP, Diálogo and Nuestro País are also 1-1 percent.

Among safe partisan voters, support for Fidesz-KDNP is 50 percent. DK’s support in this round is 15 percent, followed by Momentum at 12 percent, Jobbik and MSZP are also at 7 percent. The MKKP was nominated by 3 percent of the party’s voters, and the LMP, Diálogo y Nuestro País also reached 2 percent.
