Travel agents will be relieved:
They will have to set aside a smaller amount under the mandatory property guarantee if their sales have plummeted this year.
According to the law, the amount of the real estate guarantee for 2021 must be calculated on the basis of the invoicing of the previous year. This is now the most successful year of 2019, that is
in times of deepest crisis, the highest level of security must be provided.

Agencies will make more modest revenue than usual this year and next year as well, so the Hungarian Association of Travel Agencies has asked the government to consider only half of sales revenue in light of the pandemic. According to the alliance, in many cases the drop is even greater, but the fifty percent rate is an acceptable compromise. In addition, it was requested that the deadline for the measure be not exceptionally October 31 but November 15.
The decree was published in the Hungarian Gazette on Friday, which complied with both requests from the offices. However, the relief only applies to travel abroad, the regulations do not change for offices dealing exclusively with domestic tourism.
