The Hola Serrano ham is being withdrawn from the market by its producer, Principe di San Daniele Spa, and the distributor Aldi, because one of its samples showed the Listeria bacteria, the chain reported in a statement to MTI. The sale of the ham has been immediately suspended and the responsibility of the producer, producer or distributor cannot yet be established.

Listeria can cause stomach / gastrointestinal illness and flu-like symptoms. After consuming a product contaminated with listeria, more serious illnesses can occur, especially in pregnant women, young children, or with a weakened immune system.
