In Soroksár, Mayor Ferenc Bese prevented the campaign to build homes by civilians helping the homeless by granting the local chief architect a permit to work. He maintains that the locals are fed up with the homeless.

From the Street to the Housing Association helped Edit Svébis, who grew up in high school and was fired from her hard-earned job and turned out to be thrombotic. The woman on the street was abandoned by her partner and lost a leg in her stateless existence. The NGO installed a mobile home on its own plot, which it also helped renovate, and even supports Edit and his new partner with clothing and food to this day. All this for 25,000 guilders a month: Euronews begins its report on the situation in Soroksár.

Due to the success of the program, ULE planned to build another mobile home, for which another plot of land was purchased, and the local chief architect also gave permission for construction. It was then that Ferenc Bese, who was elected mayor in the last municipal elections with the support of Fidesz-KDNP, came to work, but stopped working at the last minute. He ordered a construction ban together with the assembly in the area, saying that “the locals are fed up with the homeless,” although the aim of the program would be precisely to ensure that those involved are not left homeless.

“The city council has not responded to any messages since then, and even expelled the founder of the ULE from the deputies’ meeting. However, hundreds of donors now have a total of 15 million guilders in empty suburban land. Not to mention that the association has already spent hundreds of thousands on power poles, building pedestals and canals, which can now be transported for expensive money, unless the House of Representatives changes its mind, ”the news channel reported.

In Hungary, 3 million Hungarians live in poor housing conditions, which is not the same as homelessness. The concept means that even if someone has a profit or income, due to increased rents and fees, they cannot afford to cover their heads.
