Katalin Novák stated that The government supports the creation of new multigenerational homes, so as of January 1, the maximum amount of support for the creation of family homes (chok) can also be used for the installation of attics in single-family homes.
The minister called it a common life situation for a young couple to build the attic of a family home in a family to raise their children there. They can use 600,000 HUF as a non-refundable grant in case of undertaking or raising a child, 2.6 million HUF in the case of two children and 10 million HUF in case of raising or undertaking three children, he said.
Katalin Novák previously announced under the family support program that
- 5 percent will go back to VAT on new homes
- Even a person who buys a new apartment with CSOK can claim 5% VAT.
- Half of the home renovation costs for families raising at least one child will be borne by the state, up to a maximum of HUF 3 million.
- Beginning in January, those who purchase a new or used property with a family home discount (chok) will receive a full tax exemption.
