The Chamber’s website proposes the following key measures, among others:

  • They want much stricter and more consistent regulation of licensing for mass events, and if they are upheld, they are calling for stricter regulation and control of mask use and distance than is currently in place.
  • They consider that the opening hours and the number of guests in restaurants and entertainment venues should be further restricted,
  • They call for calls and measures to protect older people, who are more vulnerable from an epidemiological point of view, such as restoring the time zones that provide them with safer shopping as soon as possible,
  • want health workers over 65 to be able to withdraw from care at their discretion,
  • and request periodic examinations of health workers.

The MOK sees that absent the above we will soon face a phase of the epidemic with massive infections, potentially thousands of new infections per day and even hundreds of deaths. They add that this will be exacerbated by the number of deaths from other diseases due to the overload of medical care and the illness of the masses of health workers, in the absence of adequate care.
