As he said, the epidemic is showing an upward trend across Europe today, and according to figures, Hungary is at the height of Austria. There are currently 2,209 patients treated in 42 hospitals, but medical care is “stagnant.”

Since the use of a mask depends on stopping the epidemic, I instructed the Secretary of the Interior to achieve through legislation that the use of the mask becomes common.

The flu vaccine is available through primary care physicians, will be free, covered by the state, and collection, care, and delivery will be continuous. Children under the age of 3 also get a free flu shot.

Regarding coronavirus vaccines, we participate in all European programs, but we are also examining the conditions for obtaining Russian and Chinese vaccines.

It can be clearly seen that the Hungarian government does not want to enter another set of selective austerity measures for the time being, unlike neighboring countries, where the epidemic is also in a similar upward spiral. Poland announced new measures on Saturday (closure of restaurants, restriction of the movement of minors outdoors, ban on gatherings of more than five people), and announced on Friday that a national curfew would be established in Slovakia from Saturday 24 October to November 1. In the Czech Republic, new patrol measures were decided on Wednesday (all shops and services will be closed, except shops that sell basic necessities). Meanwhile, Hungary is trying to observe and enforce the measures still in force, which are softer compared to other countries. These are not expected to significantly slow the curve of the national epidemic, but the government aims to keep the capacity of the health care system at bay. And the signs seem to last.
