Everything will be decided tonight! Some people say. This is the last time the presidential candidates will face off.
Almost nothing is decided, the choice is not up for debate! – so others. More than 40 million voters have already cast their vote and most of the rest have already decided, according to experts, who they will support.
But that’s for sure: there are only 12 days left until the US presidential election on November 3; the campaign will reach the finish line with the last debate (Hungarian time) on Friday morning.

On average, in polls in recent weeks, Donald Trump’s Democratic challenger Joe Biden leads the president by 7.5 percentage points, but the question is what exactly that means.
In several states where many analysts say the fight could be decided, including Pennsylvania, Florida, Wisconsin or Arizona, Biden’s lead is much smaller, at just a few percentage points. Furthermore, in 2016, Democrat Hillary Clinton also led with a greater advantage in all of these states, but lost them all to Trump. Then the entire election, winning three million more votes than him. And this is due to the electoral system; In the United States, individual federal states, and through them the majority of the 538 electors, must be won by whoever wants to win.

Trump and Biden first argued in late September; The outrageously angry duel of words was, according to polls, won by Biden (but, again, alone: Clinton also won debates to no avail). This debate was followed by 73 million Americans in front of television screens, 11 million fewer than the first Trump-Clinton debate four years ago.
