A government decision was published in the Hungarian Gazette on Wednesday indicating that the government would undertake the transformation of the general practitioner system.

The deadline for the implementation of the program was set by the government on December 31, 2022, which means that it will have more than two years to review the GP system.

In the last week or two, a few crumbs of information have come to light. The government recently negotiated with the Hungarian Medical Chamber on the transformation of the general practitioner system. According to the plan, the government would organize the approximately 6,500 home and pediatric consultations in some 1,000 communities of practice, recalls Portfolio.hu. There would be 2 to 6 communities of practice per district and per district in the capital, covering the determined territorial unit. According to the leaked information, a community of practice would receive an additional HUF 36 million in funding per year.

Two ministers coordinate the entire project, Sándor Pintér home affairs and Miklós Kásler Minister of Human Resources.
