The Vas County Bar Association has suspended the membership of the Csaba Czeglédy Bar Association, charged with six billion budget fraud, writes PestiSrácok.hu. Gyula Budai initiated the action in the Ethics Committee of the Hungarian Bar Association in March 2018, after Gyurcsány’s lawyer was charged with crimes under public law that threatened many years in prison and for what he believes to be absurd that Csaba Czeglédy while prosecuting budget fraud against him. Furthermore, Czeglédy had been previously convicted. Gyurcsány’s lawyer has left his community, attacking the president of the National Chamber, János Bánáti. He also announced that he would challenge the decision, and that his office with his partner would continue to work in the meantime, he would continue to carry out his orders, only then could he not be there in person at court hearings with his protégés and clients.

Gyula Budai, Member of Parliament for Fidesz, has repeatedly addressed the Vas County Ethics Committee and the Hungarian Bar Association about Csaba Czeglédy. For the first time in March 2018, after being accused of criminal fraud in a criminal organization of particularly significant value, the lawyer for Ferenc Gyurcsány, a left-wing politician. More recently, Budai wrote to the courtroom when it turned out that in the Czeglédy case, a lawyer named József Binszki had undertaken to defend three defendants by testifying before them that he had a conflict of interest and was representing a defendant who had come to an agreement with the prosecution. According to Gyula Budai, József Binszki, who is still a politician in the Czech Republic, deliberately suspended the criminal proceedings against Czeglédy.

Gyula Budai then told PestiSrácok.hu: the Hungarian Bar Association should also suspend its membership in Binszki and Czeglédy; They have the legal possibility and the way to do it, but they do nothing. A defendant who has faced at least 10 to 15 years in prison can represent local governments, gain access to confidential information and data, which is nonsense, Gyula Budai said. The Vas County Bar Association has now decided to suspend Csaba Czeglédy’s membership in the chamber. This means that although, as in all proceedings, there is the possibility of judicial redress in this case, if the suspension takes effect, from that moment on, Csaba Czeglédy will not be able to continue working as a lawyer.

This could pose a serious problem for the lawyer-politician, who to this day represents several prominent opposition politicians and even local governments. After the municipal elections, the left-wing municipalities assigned tasks to their law firm with Czeglédy’s partner. Péter Niedermüller and Imre László, mayors of the southeastern capital of the capital, did more, not only to represent them in litigation, but also to protect them. Czeglédy és Társa Law Office is entitled to a commission of several million guilders per year from public funds. Only Erzsébetváros pays a total of fifty million to the office of a lawyer accused of budget fraud with four contracts. Újbuda also signed three contracts with the office, under which at least twenty million guilders will be paid to the Czeglédys from October last year to the end of January 2021.

Although it took two years to address the matter on the merits, it is better late than never

– Gyula Budai told the Pest Guys.

On the side of his community, Csaba Czeglédy attacked János Bánáti, known for his left-wing sympathy (after 2002 he was also mentioned as Minister of Justice in left-wing governments), the president of the Hungarian Bar Association, whom he called a Fidesz partner with flexible backrest.

By the way, Bánáti told the boys of Pest that so far they had not even informed him about the decision. It was presented very fresh by the Vas County Chamber, the national chamber has not yet been informed about it.

Czeglédy is so angry that he threatened to continue working, which would be a crime, he would be a “murderer”.
