Based on signals from the Budapest Transport Center, Budapest police carried out a series of actions in the capital to detect vehicles that were moving and parking irregularly in bus lanes, police.hu reported.
The police portal reports that drivers using the bus lane illegally obstruct scheduled buses and trolleybuses, often forcing bus drivers to unjustifiably change lanes, which can lead to accidents.
The Traffic Police suffered eighty-eight irregularities in their joint action with the Metropolitan Police Directorate in two days. The uniforms were fined on the spot in 81 cases, while in the remaining seven cases they presented an infraction report against the drivers, in addition to having to transport illegally parked cars twice.
The drivers of both vehicles were seriously injured.
