Starting in January, the government will grant a total tax exemption to those who buy a new or used property with a family home discount (chok), said the minister without a portfolio for families.

Katalin Novák said it was In the case of a HUF 50 million property, it means a HUF 2 million savings, so families can save HUF 15.5 million along with VAT reduction and VAT exemption.

The tax will not be returned to customers, but they will not have to pay it at all, he stressed.
He added that since chocolate can also be claimed by single parents, the option also applies to them.
When asked how much the government would provide for this, the minister replied: the program is open from above, they provide as much money as there will be demand.

Regarding the problems related to the home renovation program, Katalin Novák said: Starting in January, the state will bear more than half of the home renovation costs for families raising at least one child, up to a maximum of HUF 3 million. Support can certainly be claimed until the child is 18 years old, but those entitled to the children’s home care rate can also use the no-age-limit option, he explained.

He stressed that the Hungarian State Treasury will be responsible for the program, because it will be able to meet massive needs even in case of great interest. The goal is to make recalls as complete as possible online and in the shortest time possible, he added.

Due to its great popularity, the program can also create jobs, it is expected that good professionals will have to wait, but because of that no one will lose support. The home building program will certainly be expanded by one more element, Katalin Novák said in response to a question.
