In the last 24 hours, the number of identified coronavirus infections has risen again: 1,474 have become ill and 33 chronically elderly have died.

Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. By Sunday, the new coronavirus infection had been detected in 1,474 new Hungarian citizens – this increased the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 46,290, according to today’s information from koronavirus.gov.hu.

Furthermore, 33 chronically elderly patients have died, bringing the death toll to 1,142 and 14,088 have already recovered.

The number of active infections thus amounted to 31,060.

31 percent of those actively infected, 41 percent of the dead and 30 percent of those recovered were from Budapest.

There are currently 1,712 coronavirus patients in the hospital, 179 of whom are on ventilators.
