According to a report by Catalan radio station RAC1, players from the first and second team wrote to authorities in a letter rejecting the proposed 30 percent pay cut.

Club leaders say salary adjustments are essential after Barcelona had 30 percent less revenue last season than originally planned due to the coronavirus epidemic.

In the seven months in which fans and tourists were also unable to visit the stadium, they had to record a loss of € 47 million in ticket revenue, € 35 million in closed stores and € 18 million in museum revenue.
